In April 2026 we launched Phase One of our Unified Energy Access project in Lazaro Village, Chasefu District. For the first time in its history, the village has electricity.

How it works. Lazaro Village is in Chasefu District, far from the national grid. Instead of each home buying its own system, Unified Energy Access shares one solar supply across the village. Households and businesses connect to it and pay as they go for the power they use, with no upfront cost. EcoHive owns, runs and maintains the system: that’s Energy-as-a-Service.

What it means for the community

  • Businesses can grow. Shops stay open longer and barbershops run properly, so small enterprises earn more.
  • Refrigeration is possible. Homes and shops can keep food and drinks cold, cutting waste and opening new income.
  • Education is improving. Children can study at night under proper light.
  • Cleaner, safer homes. Families rely less on kerosene for lighting.

This is just the beginning. Next for EcoHive: power generation.
